This series of photographs mixes food with paint and, more significantly, mixes art with what is traditionally “woman's work”. These images have a feminist flavor due to the food theme, however the domestic idea of food is being denied through the addition of paint which renders the subject inedible. It can also be said, that the artwork is being destroyed by the addition of biodegradable food products which will spoil and therefore the pieces are temporary. An irreverent attitude towards both domestic activities and art. Together they beg the question, “Can you have the best of both worlds, or will one spoil the other?”
Prints of these photographs are available in my photography print shop Stix Stones & Bones.
